The car had extensive 1/4 mile drag strip testing where it was consistently trapping 130mph, but that speed was not enough for John. They decided to take the black beauty to the Continental Tire proving grounds in Uvalde, TX.

The proving grounds provides a perfect test bed for high speed runs. It is an 8.5 mile high speed oval with 1.1mile straightaways.

John Describes the run as “The car pulled very strong and just kept pulling. I hit a pretty nasty bump around 170 mph and kept my foot on the gas. Then I hit the rev limiter at just over 195 mph…”

The speed was officially verified at 195.2mph by the VBox 3I GPS data logger.

This run is a testament to what these pony cars can do with a little attention and high quality parts. Not bad for a turn-key car that costs under $60k. Looking for our High performance boost controllers?
